Open access policies

Scientia et PRAXIS is an open access journal, which means that all its content is available free of charge to users and their institutions, with no fees for reading, downloading, or use. In accordance with the principles of open science, anyone is permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, link to, or use the full texts of the published articles without prior authorization from the editor or the authors, provided that the use is non-commercial and complies with the terms of use established by the journal.

To strengthen accessibility, inclusion, and academic dissemination, Scientia et PRAXIS incorporates complementary resources in ePub and video formats, while respecting copyright, the academic integrity of the contents, and non-commercial open access.

Scientia et PRAXIS does not charge APCs —Article Processing Charges— nor does it apply any type of fee to authors for the submission, evaluation, peer review, editing, or publication of their manuscripts. In all cases, article publication and access to content are completely free of charge for authors, readers, and institutions, in accordance with the journal’s academic, open, and non-profit nature.

All articles published in the journal are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows users to copy, share, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the content for non-commercial purposes, provided that proper credit is given to the authors and to Scientia et PRAXIS as the editorial source. This license does not require derivative works to be distributed under the same terms, although it does require non-commercial use, proper attribution, and recognition of intellectual authorship.

Authors fully retain copyright over their works. By submitting a manuscript to Scientia et PRAXIS and accepting the journal’s editorial conditions, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and a non-exclusive license to reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, preserve, publicly communicate, index, deposit metadata, and disseminate the final published version of the article on the journal’s website, repositories, databases, catalogues, indexing services, digital preservation systems, and national and international academic platforms.

The authorization for publication and dissemination may be documented through the mechanisms enabled by the journal, including the submission of the manuscript through the editorial platform, the acceptance of the submission conditions, the communications recorded in the editorial system, the approval of galley proofs, an authorization letter, or any other verifiable means that demonstrates the authors’ agreement with the publication.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is original, that it does not infringe third-party rights, and that they have obtained the necessary permissions to reproduce images, tables, figures, instruments, datasets, or other materials protected by copyright. When an article includes third-party materials, authors are responsible for providing the corresponding permissions or justifying their use in accordance with applicable regulations.

The logo of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) is displayed visibly at the end of each published article as evidence of the journal’s commitment to editorial transparency, non-commercial open access, the preservation of knowledge, and respect for copyright.
